The challenge over at the Less is more blog for this week is to use Buttons or Ribbon or both.
I immediately wanted to do this A5 card using an idea I came up with a few Christmas's ago. I have used a Marth Stewart snowflake punch to build the wreath adding buttons and red dots.
I had a giggle this morning when I thought of all the Limettes waiting to see what the new challenge was... and then rushing to make a card... Lol... I thought I would use one of the stamps I designed for Joanna Sheen - the Puffins from the Tales of the Ocean stamp set - on the Fossil sheet. Here's my card: First of all I die cut the nesties 20 shape using a piece of copy paper.. .to use as a mask. I then positioned it on the card - stamped the puffins -masked the puffins so that I could ink the background and stamp the birds (also from the Tales of the Ocean stamp set - A shell that can sing). I drew around the shape with squiggly outlines and then finished with the stamped 'Have a nice day' which I was able to curve slightly because it is a clear stamp.
The one mistake that I made was that I manged to get the whole thing off centre... so to even up the sides I used a border punch on the right side... I quite like the happy accident.
The Tales of the Ocean rubber stamp set will be on Create and Craft TV this evening ( July 9th) at 6 pm GMT.. If you don't have the channel on your TV you can view C&C live from their website HERE
Thanks for visiting and looking at my latest card.. I'm off to see all the other lovely cards already uploaded to the Less is More blog.... TTFN Hugs
This week the challenge over at the Less is more blog is Colour... Shades of Blue.
I wanted to use one of my own digi images -Klimt style mermaid - I actually made two cards, but the first card turned out a disaster so I scrapped the first idea and came up with this second card.. here's what I did - Using paint shop pro., I spun her on her side, put a frame around her... added some text and a Happy Birthday. I am lucky that I have a wide selection of gorgeous foils to play with so I printed her out from my laser printer and then foiled her using 2 different colour glossy blue foils. I lightly coloured her in with several shades of blue promarkers then added glitter on her hair, fin and tail and around the frame. I think that mounting it onto the navy card really makes this card work.
Thank you for visiting - see you soon... Hugs
- add on - I have now added this as a framed mermaid just incase you would like to buy one to print out on your own cards - HERE
