Hearts for Mother's Day....

I think I am having a mild addiction to honeycomb paper Lol...  Here are my latest projects.  I've made each heart shape using mount board.  I only have a few colours of honeycombe paper but I still enjoyed finding papers etc to look nice with them.  I made my own template for the hearts but used a die to cut the honeycombe hearts.. each one uses only half a heart so the paper goes a long way.  I made my own template for the stands too although you can get some really fancy dies, maybe one day I will invest in one...

 

 This is anaglypta wallpaper that I have inked up with Tim Holtz Squeezed Lemonade ink.. I used pressed Honesty seed heads with some small yellow daisies and the blue petals are Nigella. I put acetate over the heart before I stuck the honeycombe heart on. The little fairy I've had for years so it was really lovely to find her somewhere to live..Lol  .... with the honeycomb heart open below

 This is papermania card, I love the yellow roses.  I inked the edges and added a few punched out buterflies.

 No honeycomb paper on this one Lol... I had to do one with Anna Griffin roses.. the vase is part of a teapot card...I love the fresh spring colours.

 This heart is covered with some gorgeous wallpaper.. the black is velvet flock! I added gems all around the outside and a few acetate butterflies with foil on the backs.

Wallpaper cards

I have to confess that I have been quite addicted to collecting wallpaper samples over the years.  I can not come out of the DIY shop without a few more samples... 

I just love these wallpapers because of the texture.. the animal print looks like real fur!

 I used a heart die cutout as a stencil to draw white lines for the bottom heart...

This wallpaper is absolutely gorgeous!.. it is glittered!.. I thought it was just crying out for some sequins and beads.  The black is also wallpaper.. it really feels like real velvet!

So... if you haven't investigated your local wallpaper shop... get along there today.. I know you will find something gorgeous to play with..!!

FREEBIE for Musical heart card

Hello,
Did you watch the Classic Melody stamps being launched on the TV? What a fun and enjoyable hours viewing I've just had.
As promised, here is the background graphic that I used for the musical heart card on the left. Please feel free to use on your card projects. Click on the image to bring view the larger jpeg and save to your computer.

I used various sized heart shaped spellbinder nestabilities to create the hearts and then stamped the piano keys onto each one with momento ink. To give the black keys a raised look, I used a versamark pen to highlight them and covered with clear embossing powder... it needed 2 coats of this to give a lovely glossy shine to them.

I will be popping in over the weekend to add pictures and details of the other sample cards I made for the show. I hope you enjoy using this freebie.
