Hearts for Mother's Day....

I think I am having a mild addiction to honeycomb paper Lol...  Here are my latest projects.  I've made each heart shape using mount board.  I only have a few colours of honeycombe paper but I still enjoyed finding papers etc to look nice with them.  I made my own template for the hearts but used a die to cut the honeycombe hearts.. each one uses only half a heart so the paper goes a long way.  I made my own template for the stands too although you can get some really fancy dies, maybe one day I will invest in one...

 

 This is anaglypta wallpaper that I have inked up with Tim Holtz Squeezed Lemonade ink.. I used pressed Honesty seed heads with some small yellow daisies and the blue petals are Nigella. I put acetate over the heart before I stuck the honeycombe heart on. The little fairy I've had for years so it was really lovely to find her somewhere to live..Lol  .... with the honeycomb heart open below

 This is papermania card, I love the yellow roses.  I inked the edges and added a few punched out buterflies.

 No honeycomb paper on this one Lol... I had to do one with Anna Griffin roses.. the vase is part of a teapot card...I love the fresh spring colours.

 This heart is covered with some gorgeous wallpaper.. the black is velvet flock! I added gems all around the outside and a few acetate butterflies with foil on the backs.

Pressed Flower Wedding sample - Day 6

For this wedding invitation I used two single blue Daisy flowers. It is very simple to do

. I cut a piece of textured card to size. Using a circle punch I punched a hole roughly in the middle of the right hand side . I layed this over the card as a guide to stick my flower then glued a piece of acetate to the back of the appeture. Before sticking the panel down I stamped 'Wedding Invitation' in blue and run some lace across the top of the panel holding it down with DST on the back. Once stuck down I added a few pearls.

For the inside of the invitation I did the same for the panel above on the flap - making sure to add a piece of ribbon to hold the RSVP in place under the flap - the ends are hidden under the panel.
.. adding die cut letters from the same textured card gives a different look.

Pressed Flower Wedding Sample No. 5

The panel on the left side was stuck on. First I crumpled a piece of ivory paper then ran it through my laminator with some lovely pearl foil over it. I love doing this as each time it is different. I mounted the panel onto card - arranged the flowers stuck with clear gel and then covered the whole panel with tulle netting, folding and sticking it down on the back with DST. and then stuck it on the card. I decided to add some pearls for decoration. The punched border was from a Martha Stewart large punch -lightly inked with Tim Holtz spun sugar. I embossed the 'Wedding Invitation' in white embossing powder and then lightly inked the corner with the same ink.

You can see that I added another panel done the same way inside the invitation. Here is a better photo of the lovely sheen from the pearly crumpled paper...

Pressed Flower wedding sample day 4

For this invitaion wallet I used one of Joanna Sheens lovely Lace stamps here - on all the various parts inside and on the flap.

I made a little A6 (4" x 6") RSVP card with a heart window adding one of the beautiful Roses from Joanna Sheens Pressed Flowers covering it with acetate. The little window on the inside pocket also has a rose with acetate protecting it. To make this you will need a piece of card measuring roughly 16" x 6 like the one on sample day 2 post..again I scored 2" from each side and one for a fold in the middle creating 2 areas that will be 6" x 6" approx with a flap at the top and a piece at the bottom to score and fold in and stick to create the pocket for the RSVP and envelope.

Before sticking the invitation panel I punched 2 little holes to thread the ribbon, hiding it under the panel making it easier and neater when tieing the bow. To keep the invite extra secure I did add a small piece of Velcro on the flap as well.

Pressed flower wedding sample day 3

I sort of had in mind what I wanted to do but wasn't sure what to use for this invite so it grew as I made it. The patterned paper border is one of the lovely wallpaper backing papers from the Thomas Kinkade CD by Joanna Sheen but I printed it out onto cream paper and with black and white settings.. I like to try different ways to print out papers and this was perfect for this invite. The grey panel was cut to size and I added 3 Pressed Daisies from Joanna Sheens Pink pressed flower packs and covered the whole panel with tulle, taping it to the back with DST, I added a black ribbon strip with a buckle and then positioned onto the front of the card. I stamped the words onto cream card onto black card and added it to the front.

For the inside I added more of the same printed paper as shown. The panel on the right is a printed out invite layered onto grey card, the panel on the left is a grey panel with a tieable ribbon where I added the printed out RSVP and envelope.. the buckel on the ribbon strip was stuck down with foam tape to create a little lip to stop the paper from slipping. For a last touch, from the same grey card I cuttlebugged the letters for the RSVP down the side.

Pressed Flower Wedding Samples

I made some sample Wedding invitations and cards for the Wedding Show that was aired on Sunday with Joanna Sheen. I will be showcasing one per day over the next few days.

Firstly, here is a picture of all of them for an 'at a glance view'.

My first card is the large Wedding verse card.

I printed the verse in grey along with the oval. I am not sure who wrote the verse that was shared with me some years ago.. I really like it so I put it on this card. All the roses are from Joanna Sheens Roses Pressed Flower pack available on her website and I used pva applied with a toothpick to glue them down. The close up shows little pearly dots on the card.. I used a glue pen and pearl press on foil..but you could also use a pearl pen for the same effect. I covered the whole of the front of the card with acetate - fixed with DST and hidden by the ribbon down the side of the card.
