I added a new digi stamp over the weekend.. I have called her Angie.
Here are some of the card samples I have made using her...
She is no longer available at the Stitchy Bear Digital stamp store. She reflects the way I am feeling at the moment.. My creations tend to do that Lol! I hope you like her as much as I do.

First post of 2011

A Happy New year to you, it's a bit late I know, but I hope you all had a good beginning to the year.

We had a death on New Year's Day in our family so I haven't felt like blogging over the last few weeks. Things should return to normal soon and I plan to be involved in blogland again hope to draw many more freebies for you to download during 2011.

In the mean time I want to share some cards I have made for Valentine's day using a fantastic tutorial I saw on Valita's Designs & fresh folds blog... using hearts. I will show my cards to you first and give you a link at the bottom of this post otherwise you will go there and not want to come back Lol!!.. her blog is addictive heheh Lol!... so here is a taster of how she inspired me..
I used some mini mosaics on her dress because I thougth they looked just like little sequins.. I used the Tim Holtz floral alteration die cutting red organza for the flowers.

Valita show us how to shade the heart like this.. it's great fun!

This is a simple wedding card using the heart idea... I used some lovely holographic card for her dress and drew squiggles with a glue pen and added glitter for a wonderful sparkle.. it looks like a diamonte encrusted bodice.

Well, as promised here is the link to Valita's fantastic inspiring blog with her own video tutorial for these hearts... Thanks for visiting today.. remember to leave me a comment if you are going to before to get hooked on her blog... LOL!!
Hugs to you all

Last post of 2010....~Something I made~

I wanted to make a 'handmade something special' for my friend. I found a wonderful way to use the Tim Holtz birdcage as a hanging ornament from this blog post and was completely inspired to make my own version with what I have. Here it is:
I used papermania papers for the bird and Martha stewart poinsetta and holly punches. the birdcage opens up:
I made the inside by layering 7 birdcage dies cut from mount board on top of each other after cutting away the bars.. creating a little area to fill up with embellishments. I printed tiny sheets of music and aged them with TH ink and stickles around the edges, added small amounts of green flowersoft, a few decorative brads and stars and punched holly. The crackle effect on the birdcage is die cut from wallpaper and glued on top. I added a 'D' ring to hold the two pieces together and hung a piece of scrap chain and a ribbon. The silver chain tassle is from my stash.

My friend really liked this handmade gift and I have a feeling she will be getting out again for next Christmas. Oh, and another little tip.. when you buy sizzix packs of two embossing folders they are packed in a lovely acetate pillow box... great for recycling hand made gifts like this.!!

I hope you are all having a lovely New Year's Eve. Thank You for visiting my blog today... See you all again Next Year! Lol

One more card...

I actually found a little time to make a card using the freebie below.. here it is:
I know that the obvious colour choice for her coat is red, but I couldn't get it to look right with red promarkers... so pale blue it is Lol! I used papers from the Papermania Silent night collection and a sprig of holly from the never ending Anna Griffin kit that I get out every year and always have lots left Lol!
Thanks for looking

Another card using freebie..

I am delighted that so many of you enjoyed the freebie this week. Here's another card I have used it on.

If you like these cute polar bears you can find them here. I printed one on copy paper and one onto card. I cut the paper one around the bears to make a mask. I held the mask over the bears while I inked the sky background using Tim Holtz distress inks and then I drizzled and splashed little amounts of water onto the sky then using a piece of kitchen towel, dabbed the water off - leaving areas of ink lifted creating a snowy look.. I am hooked on doing this to my cards at the moment Lol.. I just love the effect. I added small amounts of polar white flower soft to the snow.

Thanks for visiting... Stay warm where ever you are.

~FREEBIE~ Sunday 21st November

I decided to give away some text today. I saw other lovely examples on the web and thought, I have so many lovely fonts, why not do my own. Here it is for you to use on your Christmas cards if you want to.

This will print out 4" x 1" and is 300dpi. I have done red text so that you can easily change the colour if you choose... of course if you want it in black you can print in greyscale.
Here's a card I made with it along with one of my digi stamps - Trees

As you can see I have used polar white flower soft for the snow effect. I made a mask by tearing a window out of copy paper and used a slightly inked brayer to give a bit of colour for the sky.

Thankyou for visiting.. see you next time!

I used paper from Kay & Co and a punch for the trains. I got the little baby feet charms a while ago and thought they were just right.

Sunday 14th November ~FREEBIE~

Hello bloggers...
I've had such a busy month! Christmas gets closer and closer Lol! so much to still do.

I was asked to make a card for a man..with a golf theme!... so I decided to draw a golf bag and here it is for you to use for your projects... Have fun! click on image and save.

... and here is the card I made with it...I coloured it with promarker pens. The sky background paper is from the beautiful Thomas Kinkade Cdrom from Joanna Sheen, there are some really beautiful sky backgrounds to use on there. I laser printed the greeting onto the background and then foiled it in blue.
I'd love to see what you create with it too... leave a comment with your link and I'll take a look. See you next month ....

Sunday 17th October ~FREEBIE~

Hello Bloggers!

It's been a while since I've given a freebie... but here is one for you today.
I needed a twiggy wreath for a card so decided to give it away, a bit cheeky really as I am sure that you could just as easily draw this for yourselves Lol... nevertheless, here it is....

I know it doesn't look that much, but once it is decorated it can look really pretty or Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving or many more occasions with flowers etc. I have saved this as a coloured image so that you can colourise it if you wish.
Here's a card I have made using it..
I have used Tim Holtz distress inks for the wreath background splashed with water and blotted with a tissue to give the distress/snowy look. I added lots of tiny sequins and little pearls (done with a pearl pen). I was shown how to do the ribbon weaving on Friday at the craft club I go to... I am now addicted Lol... the snowflakes are from the Martha Stewart punch... and the backing paper on the bottom is from Papermania.. The Sentiment is one of my own - foiled.

Have fun with this..

In answer to how to make the ribbon weaving.. as I said I was only shown last week and I love it.. you can weave 2 colours for a different look and with and width ribbon.. I am new, so I will be playing Lol... .... anyway, I have looked on the web and have found this fabulous video tutorial on you tube...

Have fun!!

Christmas digi 'Spotlight'

I made this card using one of my new release digi stamps called 'Festive friends' available at the Stitchy Bear & I did it Creations Boutique - pop over there and take a look, once you download it you can use it as many times as you want this christmas on so many of your cards and scrapbook pages and anything else you can imagine up.
I used promarker pens to colour the stamp and added plenty of glitter on the snow. I enjoyed using a Martha Stewart snowflake punch to make the frame.
I hope you like it and come back to see what other cards I make with it.
Hugs until next time.

Ballerina card in Pink

Here's the Best Friends digi stamp coloured in pinks and browns this time.
I used pro marker pens and added some stardust pen to their frills and accents and then added some white gel pen over their legs to give the look of lace tights. I made the rose and punched the other flowers using a Martha Stewart punch. I also made the little sliders. I couldn't resist adding tiny little gems as a trail to the butterfly. the papers are from Papermania Summer bloom 12 x 12 paper set.

Spotlight

Do you like these little girls?..

I coloured them with promarker pens adding white gel pen to give the look of lacy tights. I am not shy about using bling, bling and more bling as you can see from all those gems and glitter Lol! The papers are K & Co, I punched edges with MS punch and added a few ribbon roses.

If you are visiting to see what the freebie is this week, I have decided to reduce them to a MONTHLY FREEBIE instead. I have so many other commitments that it's hard to fit it all in! I enjoy sharing freebies with you so it will be on a monthly rota from now on. your comments are very welcome and mean alot to me.
